As Head Coach of Kisenshi Martial Arts, Guillermo Montano Hernandez brings more than 30 years of martial arts experience to the Chandler and Tolleson locations. A 5th Dan Black Belt in Karate-Do and a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu, he has built a career defined by high-level competition, athlete development, and leadership training on and off the mat.
“His mission is clear: to develop not only great fighters, but great human beings capable of achieving any goal on and off the mat.” – Sensei Guillermo
Throughout his career, Guillermo Montaño Hernández has established himself as a respected presence in prestigious competitive arenas across the United States and Latin America. His experience spans Karate-Do, Point Fighting, Full Contact, Muay Thai, and Jiu-Jitsu, supported by decades of active competition and verified achievements.
Elite Competition and Combat Achievements
He earned multiple first-place finishes, establishing himself as an elite competitor in this discipline.
He competed in prestigious events such as the U.S. Open, Compete, Golden Gate, and Gran Jaguar.
He participated in major organizations such as UMSTO and Muay Thai Open, testing his skills in highly competitive environments.
In 2001, he became champion in Mexico City after defeating the multi-title fighter considered the best in the country at that time.
Guillermo’s martial arts story began with a defining test. In his very first class, he took a hit that made him bleed. For many people, that moment would have been enough to never return. For him, it marked the beginning of an unbreakable determination.
That experience became the foundation of his philosophy: discipline, perseverance, and character. Today, he passes that mindset on to his students, teaching them that true strength is not shown by avoiding the hit, but by choosing to rise with even greater conviction after taking one.
Beyond titles and competition, Guillermo Montaño Hernández’s greatest legacy is in teaching. Throughout his career in Mexico and the United States, he has trained dozens of students and promoted more than 50 black belts, leaving a lasting impact on every generation he has guided.
His work as an instructor is reflected in both technical excellence and the well-rounded development of his students:
